The North-South Commuter Railway Project is a priority infrastructure project that aims to speed up travel time from Manila to Bulacan with a convenient and efficient means of transportation. From current ninety (90) minutes, the NSCR will cut the travel time from Tutuban, Manila to Malolos, Bulacan down to thirty-five (35) minutes.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is the lead implementing agency, supported by official development assistance from Japanese government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The TAISEI-DMCI Joint Venture (TDJV) formed by Japan's TAISEI Corporation and Philippines' D.M. Consunji, Inc. undertakes the civil works for the project. The NSTRen Consortium is the Engineer-Consultant for NSCR-CP01.
